Update: Boyfriend charged in shooting death of 18-year-old

Riverview, Florida -- Hillsborough County Sheriff's homicide detectives launched an investigation Wednesday morning after an 18-year-old girl was shot and killed at a local mobile home park.

Detectives say they got a call around 7:00 Wednesday morning about gunshots heard from a mobile home at the Pinewood Mobile Home Rentals along Highway 301. The first deputy on scene reportedly opened the door to the home and found the body of 18-year-old Amber Rose Baker dead from a gunshot wound.

Throughout the day, detectives interviewed friends, family, neighbors, and Baker's live-in boyfriend of two years, 22-year-old Danny Larocco, and have since charged Larocco in the case.

Those who knew the couple told officials the pair fought constantly, and deputies say that's exactly what sparked Wednesday morning's tragic incident.

According to their latest report, Larocco and Baker were fighting when he pulled out a .45 caliber revolver and shot her in the chest. He then called 911 to report the shooting, and said it was all an accident.

After evaluating all of the information, and consulting with the State Attorney's Office, deputies say Larocco has been arrested and charged with Culpable Negligence Manslaughter with a Firearm.

In an earlier report, officials also said deputies have been to the address several times in the past, even for a Baker Act call as recent as this past February.
