Help needed in cold case movie theatre murder

Brandon, Florida -- The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help, again, with the cold case murder of Sean Buchanan on May 30, 2011.

Police say Buchanan left the AMC movie theater at the Regency Square Shopping Center around 10 p.m. after watching the movie "Fast Five".

Less than an hour later, a theater employee and an off-duty paramedic found the 26-year-old suffering from a stab wound and fighting for his life inside his car that had crashed into a wooded area behind the mall.

Surveillance video shows a man leaving the mall around the same time, from the same exit. Detectives need the public's help identifying this man who is a person of interest in this case.

If you know anything about this case, you are urged to call the sheriff's office homicide section at 247-8655. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS. You can also text your anonymous tip by texting CSTB plus your tip to C-R-I-M-E-S.
