International Studies school helps Japan relief effort

Tampa, FL -- MacFarlane Park Elementary Magnet School for International Studies students are sponsoring a relief effort for Japan. 

Students are encouraged to bring in a gently used book or toy. Staff will price items from .50 cents to $5.  

On Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., students will have the opportunity to shop the exchange.

Monday, Head Coach Raheem Morris, Buccaneers cheerleaders and Captain Fear surprised 29-year-old Christina Salatino at her Valrico job.


Salantino won the new car through the Buccaneers' second annual "Road to Success" program.

The Friends of Alafia, Inc. will host an equestrian poker run, and a 6-hour mountain bike endurance race on April 2.  


It costs $15 to participate, that doesn't include park fees.

or every box of electronics equipment collected at a GreenSite Drop Off location, the company will donate trees to the Foundation.

Each GreenSite location will accept computers (towers and laptops), cell phones, printers, fax machines, cameras, camcorders, cameras, cassette players, CD/DVD players, modems, monitors, scanners, pagers, PDA wireless devices, radios, projectors, photocopiers, stereo receivers, speakers, telephone systems, UPS power protection and VCRs.

Riverview, FL -- A young girl who died in a bull riding accident was remembered Saturday night.

Remington Rough Stock hosted a memorial bull riding event honoring Brooke Ann Coats to raise money for her favorite charities.

The Riverview High School student died Feb. 18 while riding at the Crosstown Arena. She was kicked in the chest.
