Temple Terrace Arts Council: Recent festival a beautiful success

Tampa, FL-- The Temple Terrace Arts Council held their 39th annual Temple Terrace Community Arts Festival  this past weekend, and they excitedly reported the event "a beautiful success."

At the two day event, attendees enjoyed food, entertainment, crafts for the kids, arts and crafts, a canoe challenge and even a Veteran's Day celebration.

Many community volunteers and sponsors made this event possible, and the Arts Council would like to extend a big "thank you!"

Seminole Hard Rock Calender Girls to benefit Special Ops soldiers

Tampa, FL--  The beautiful ladies of the 2013 Seminole Hard Rock Girls Calendar will sign calendars and greet fans at an event to benefit wounded Special Ops soldiers via the Care Coalition.

This first signing of the 2013 issue will be free to guests, as will autographs. The calendars, however, cost $10, and the net proceeds will benefit the Care Coalition, described as "a program to help aid wounded soldiers in the Special Ops at MacDill Air Force Base."

FishHawk, Florida -- Relay For Life of FishHawk Team meetings are at Stowers Elementary School in Lithia.

The next meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 13.

2013 Relay For Life will be at Newsome High School in Lithia on March 23-24.

Tampa, Florida -- Mark your calendars now for Sunday, Nov. 11.

The Westchase Thanksgiving Food Drive is back.

Residents are encouraged to leave food donations at the end of their drive way or near mailboxes at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11 for collection by volunteers.

The food will be donated to Metropolitan Ministries to help our neediest neighbors in Tampa Bay.

Tampa, FL-- Wesley Chapel Nissan announced Monday they are collecting donations to take up north for Superstorm Sandy victims.

According to their statement, their General Manager Glenn Gibson has already traveled up north with generators and gas to help.

To continue their efforts, they say they have filled their showroom with boxes donated by a number of generous kind hearted individuals, and they hope to receive more contributions!

Postal Service to collect toys at mailboxes December 1

Tampa, FL-- It seems early to start thinking of the holidays, but the Suncoast District of the U.S. Postal Service wants to inform its customers of their upcoming toy drive. 

On December 1, the Postal Service asks those customers who are able to leave unwrapped toys by their mailboxes, or in bins at the nearest post office. 

The toys will support the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to "brighten the holiday for less fortunate children."

Tampa, Florida -- The University of South Florida will be honoring all those who have served in the United States military for their bravery and sacrifice in a Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 10:45 a.m. in the Marshall Student Center Amphitheatre on the Tampa campus.
