Tampa, FL -- The Museum of Science & Industry is the proud recipient of the Tampa Bay Technology Forum Award for "Community Supporter of the Year".

The panel of judges selected MOSI as the recipient of the 2011 "Community Supporter of the Year" award as part of TBTF's 8th Annual Industry Achievement Awards event that was held on Nov. 4.

The other finalists for this year's award were the Florida Advanced Technological Education Center (FLATE) and the Science Center of Pinellas.

Wit Ostrenko, President of MOSI, received the award on behalf of all of MOSI's staff during the award gala on Friday evening, Nov. 4. Ostrenko said, "MOSI is extremely honored to receive the "Community Supporter of the Year" award, and we will continue to do our best to lead the Tampa Bay community with quality educational programs that support STEM education."

Founded in 2000, the Tampa Bay Technology Forum is a non-profit membership association committed to connecting and growing the technology community in Tampa Bay.

"The Awards Gala is always an exciting time because it is really the only event in Tampa Bay dedicated solely to celebrating our region's technology industry and honoring our best and brightest," said Amy Norman, president and CEO of TBTF. "Our judges had their work cut out for them this year as we had a record number of impressive applicants."
