Tampa, FL -- Rock Around for the Pets is a 1950s-themed event with all proceeds going to Tampa Bay families who cannot afford emergency or specialty care for their beloved pets; care for local police, fire and rescue departments K-9 units; and efforts to find cures for pets with catastrophic diseases through groundbreaking research and treatment.

Tonight's event is the inaugural year for the new annual fundraising event. It starts with a VIP and Sponsor Reception at 6 p.m. at the T. Pepin Hospitality Centre, 4121 North 50th Street, Tampa. The Rockin’ Party for Pets runs from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

This evening features live 50s music by Cactus Jack & The Cadillacs, a 1950s costume contest, pet-themed games, a psychic, hors d’oeuvres and desserts by some of the Bay Area’s finest restaurants, a silent Auction that includes a Harley-Davidson Sportster, and a trip to Paris with cooking classes at the Cordon Bleu.

VIP Tickets are $100, regular tickets are $75. The event is sponsored by Candy & Eddie DeBartolo and The DeBartolo Family Foundation.
