Westchase student raises $4,100 for cancer research

Tampa, Florida --  He may not be not be old enough to drive a car, but 13-year-old Brett Steinfeld has managed to round up his fellow Westchasers to raise thousands of dollars for cancer research.

He brought back the "Amazing Race for Life" this year, which is modeled after the popular CBS TV show, and managed to raise $4,100 with the help of his friends and neighbors.

Steinfeld says he was inspired by his grandfather.

He first brought the fundraising race to Westchase last year, a year ahead of his Bar Mitzvah, so he could share the experience with his grandfather who was suffering from pancreatic cancer.

Sadly, his grandfather passed away before last year's race.

But, the youngster decided to continue the life saving tradition this year.

The $4,100 raised during last weekend's race will go to the American Cancer Society.

Go Brett!!
