Oldsmar, Florida --  The Farnell Middle School PTSA teamed up with other Westchase area schools to raise money for the family of fallen St. Petersburg Police Officer Yaslowitz.

The officer's wife taught at nearby Forest Lakes Elementary School, which also participated in the fundraiser.

The PTSA website says the "Wear Yellow Day" fundraiser helped raise more than $9,000 for the officer's wife and children.  Students were allowed to wear yellow in exchange for a donation, rather than their school uniforms.

According to the PTSA calender, it is also organized Burger 21 day on Monday.  A percentage of sales will go to the fallen officer fund.
