New Anti-Graffiti Unit will clean up local area tomorrow

Plant City, FL -- Hillsborough County Code Enforcement inspectors is launching a cleanup with their new Anti-Graffiti Unit to cleanup areas in eastern Hillsborough County on Friday, Feb. 25.

The cleanup will begin at 9 a.m. starting on Holloway Road a few blocks north of Turkey Creek Road which is north of Hwy 60 near Plant City and Valrico.

The Hillsborough County Code Enforcement held an unveiling ceremony for the new Unit to help fight against dangerous gang graffiti this past Wednesday morning.

The $103,000 anti-graffiti truck was purchased through a state justice assistance grant, with no county tax dollars being spent. The new logo design on the truck shows the Comprehensive Anti-Gang Initiative (CAGI) partnership and provides a number for citizens to call and report gang graffiti.

The CAGI Task Force is a 26-agency organization including Hillsborough County Code Enforcement; Hillsborough County Criminal Justice; the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office; Tampa Police Department; Florida Department of Law Enforcement, along with several federal agencies including the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, the FBI and ATF
