Wimauma, Florida – Two busloads of tenth-graders from Tampa Preparatory School unleashed a morning of good cheer Monday that flattered and entertained more than 200 young children in Wimauma.

The students’ visit to RCMA’s Wimauma Academy and Bethel Migrant Head Start Center was part of Terrapin Day, an annual day of community service staged by students at Tampa Prep. This was the fourth year they have visited the Wimauma sites, which cater to the rural poor.

“The children loved it,” said Mark Haggett, director of Wimauma Academy. “When it was time for Tampa Prep to leave, our kids still wanted to play. I hope Tampa Prep will consider spending the whole day next year.
