Tampa, Fla.  – Liberty Middle School students, National Junior Honor Society, and the Future Business Leaders of America have teamed up – again – to raise funds for the Calyx and Beau Schenecker Memorial Fund. Students will present an oversized $6,000 check to Col. Parker Schenecker and matching funds by Nancy Schenecker (grandmother) to benefit the fund next Monday in the Liberty Middle School media center.

The students held a cookie dough fundraiser during November to raise money, create community awareness of the needs of the memorial fund, and to honor their former classmates, the late Calyx and Beau Schenecker.

Last year students raised $4,000.  This year they exceeded their goal of $5,000.

The Calyx and Beau Schenecker Memorial Fund provides scholarships for promising leaders, athletes, and artists in the Tampa Bay area. It was established after their tragic deaths in January 2011.
