Tampa, Florida -- Grimaldi's Pizzeria, famous for its award-winning, hand-tossed, coal-fired brick oven pizzas and calzones, is helping the cause for children's literacy with their "Books for Kids" holiday book drive.

Until Dec 21, guests are encouraged to drop off new or "gently loved" children's books at Grimaldi's Pizza two Tampa Bay locations: 7990 Citrus Park Town Center in Tampa or at Countryside Mall in Clearwater.

Grimaldi's Pizzeria is partnering with Eckerd, a national not-for-profit youth services organization headquartered in Clearwater that serves as the lead agency for foster care in Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough counties.

By dropping off books in support of this initiative, the community can help improve the lives of more than 7,000 at-risk children, foster care children and underprivileged youths served by Eckerd in the Tampa Bay area.

"We are very excited about 'Books for Kids,'" said Vincent Diorio, general manager of Grimaldi's Pizzeria in Clearwater. "We have always focused on the children in our community, and are looking forward to providing the gift of learning and literacy this holiday season."
