Florida State Fairgrounds: "We need your support!"

Tampa, Florida-- The Florida State Fairgrounds tweeted yesterday asking for the community's support during the Florida State Fairgrounds Foundation's fundraising golf tournament.

The tweet included a link to their website, which provided a full description of those that will benefit from the event:

All proceeds from the Florida State Fair Foundation Golf Tournament go directly to the Florida State Fair Foundation, a 501(c) (3) organization. All proceeds are used to support the many educational programs of the Florida State Fair Authority, plus develop the many on-line learning resources made available to students and teachers alike.

From Cracker Country to youth livestock exhibitors, the Authority educates tens of thousands of youngsters each year on a variety of topics.

Each year Cracker Country, Tampa Bay's only living history museum, introduces 25,000 elementary school students to what their lives would have been like in 1898.

Prior to the annual Florida State Fair youth livestock exhibitors are trained in how to take care of their animals and prepare them for showing at the annual state Fair. In the spring and fall, thousands of elementary students participate in the Authority's Ag in the Classroom programs.

The tournament is scheduled to take place on October 15 at the Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club. Click here for the entry form.

Breakfast for participants begins at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start following at 9.

For a little extra fun, the event will also have longest drive, closest to the pin and hole-in-one contests.

Tampa Palms Country Club is located at 5811 Tampa Palms Blvd., Tampa, Florida 33647.
