Ruskin, Florida-- On Sunday, May 20, more than 50 local kids battling cancer will fish alongside Major League Baseball Hall of Famer, Wade Boggs, and top area fishing guides at the Resort & Club at Little Harbor.

This Kid’s Derby is a kick-off event for the 7th Annual Phil Pegley Black Tip Shark Shootout Fishing Tournament to be held the following weekend on May 25 and 26.

This event benefits the Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

The Kid’s Derby will allow children to participate in fishing, face painting, a bounce house, and other activities, and the day will end with lunch and awards for all participating children.

The Kid's Derby is not open to the public, but the Black Tip Shootout Fishing Tournament's website allows for pre-registration for any interested in the following weekend's events.

The tournament will be held at Resort & Club at Little Harbor, 611 Destiny Drive, Ruskin, FL 33570.
