In this interactive reality budgeting game, teens are given a new occupation and salary which comes with obligations.

You may have insurance bills, a student loan or credit card to pay off and even a child to care for. Make choices about real life stuff, all while trying to not go broke!

Glazer Children's Museum exceeds annual attendance goal in 9 months

Tampa, FL -- With nearly an entire fiscal quarter yet to complete before the end of its operating year, the Glazer Children’s Museum announces it has achieved its first year attendance goal of 200,000 visitors.

President and CEO Al Najjar announced on Thursday, July 14 that 200,662 people have visited the museum since opening its doors to the public on Sept. 25, 2010. And as summertime guests continue to fill the museum, Najjar says they anticipate around 250,000 visitors by the end of the year.

“The reception by families of the Tampa Bay area and beyond has been remarkable, and we are grateful for the way the community has embraced the museum as a family and educational resource," Najjar said in a release. "We are energized and committed to further enhancing the educational offerings of the children’s museum, and invite our entire diverse and wonderful community to come enjoy the experience.”

Local company helps with first home in new Habitat for Humanity community

Tampa, FL -- Employees of Gerdau, a global steel company with a large office in Tampa, will participate in a wall-raising ceremony for the first home in Providence Pointe, the newest Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County community, this Saturday, July 16.

The Ashford’s, the organization’s newest homeowner family, will attend the event, which begins at 9 a.m. at 8425 Radio Lane in Tampa. Volunteers from Gerdau will continue to work on the home throughout the day.

The Ashford family consists of Patricia, a single mother who works for Hillsborough Area Regional Transit, and her three daughters. Patricia says she is excited about owning a home for the first time. “Owning a home means freedom and independence. I want something that I can leave my family.”

Patricia learned about Habitat Hillsborough through helping her sister, Mable Ashford, who built and purchased a home with Habitat in 1999.

Admission is $11 which includes grilled hot dogs, cheeseburgers, burgers, other bbq sides, and an exclusive Yankees baseball cap.

This is a great way to rub elbows with some of fellow business professionals from across Hillsborough County.

The TCOB group had great fun enjoying the recently upgraded VIP room with cosmic bowling and the arcade with a wide variety of games for all ages.

Tampa, Florida --  Cool down this Monday with a free brain freeze!

Participating 7-Eleven stores will be celebrating "Happy 7-Eleven Day" by offering customers a free 7.11 ounce Slurpee on Monday, July 11.

There are 7-Eleven stores at the corner of Linebaugh Avenue and Countryway Boulevard and at 6016 Gunn Highway.

At the Gunn Highway location, the store will hold a series of competitions, including timed Slurpee-drinking contests, one-minute 7-Eleven-themed challenges and a Twitter popularity contest.
