New Marshalls store hiring in Riverview right now

Riverview, Florida -- A Marshalls store is opening soon in Riverview in the Summerfield Crossing strip mall area and the store is hiring workers right now.

Marshalls is known to offer a rapidly changing assortment of fashionable brand-name merchandise. They say they offer family apparel, home fashions and other merchandise such as toys at prices that are 20%-60% below regular department and specialty store prices.

Marshalls stores are an average of approximately 31,000 square feet in size.

The event is being held at the Ruskin Branch Library at 26 Dickman Dr. S.E. in Ruskin from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2nd. The event is presented by the Hillsborough County Small Business Information Center.

Hillsborough County Seeks sponsors for Hack-A-Thon

Hillsborough County, Florida-- The first Hillsborough Hack-A-Thon  is set for next month, and county reps say they're seeking businesses with an interest in "becoming champions for innovation" to sponsor the event. 

The Hack-A-Thon will take place at the HCC Campus in Brandon on the weekend of April 12 - 14. Sponsorships will cover the necessary costs of advertisement, event space, prizes, food for the participants and other event-related expenses.

Tampa, Florida-- The Westshore business district is booming, and several acquisitions by out-of-state corporations support that.  The latest purchase is a doozy.

Raleigh, NC-based Highwoods Properties Inc. announced the acquisition of Colonial Place I and II for $56 million. Colonial Place I and II are two 10-story properties spanning 372,000 square feet with structured parking, and are located adjacent to another Highwoods' Class A office property - 4200 Cypress.

Tampa, Florida-- You've seen the name on top of the 11-story square cube at the corner of Westshore and I-275 - Amscot.  

The bright blue and yellow logo at the top of the tower can be seen all over Tampa, but soon the name Amscot will be seen all over south Florida as well. 

Amscot, based in Tampa Bay, has stores predominantly located throughout Tampa and Orlando, but the company has been eyeing a south Florida expansion for some time.

Several vacant lots have recently been purchased, while others that are blighted have been bulldozed to make way for new construction.

Several new condo complexes have recently opened or will soon, and the same goes for businesses. One in particular: The Container Store
