HCC recital scheduled for Sunday

Tampa, FL -- The Hillsborough Community College has scheduled a recital for this Sunday afternoon. The performance is part of the school's Visual and Performing Arts Series known as Chamber Music Ybor.

As part of the Visual and Performing Arts Series CHAMBER MUSIC YBOR offerings, Hillsborough Community College Ybor City Campus is pleased to present the REFLECTIONS CHAMBER ENSEMBLE in recital in the Mainstage Theatre on May 8 at 3 p.m

This REFLECTIONS CHAMBER ENSEMBLE concert will feature Carmen Bannon, Flute and Cheryl Losey, Harp.

REPO! The Genetic Opera is the latest cult-classic film for this generation. 

Described as a cross between The Rocky Horror Picture Show meets Blade Runner, this horror rock-opera movie musical from the creators of the Saw franchise stars Anthony Head, Alexa Vega, Sarah Brightman, Paul Sorvino and Paris Hilton.

Tampa, FL -- May is Clean Air Month in Tampa Bay, and the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County (EPC) is proud to host its 10th Annual Clean Air Fair.

This year’s Clean Air Fair theme is Global Air - Local Care, and focuses on the local education efforts to reduce air pollution.

Attendees can visit a variety of environmental and community exhibitors; receive health information; enjoy complimentary refreshments and food items; enter prize drawings; and hear live music.

Tampa, FL -- The celebration of "National Asian Pacific American Heritage Month" at Asia Fest shared Asian culture through ethnic food, colorful celebrations, and festive entertainment.

The event was said to have brought 10,000 people to Channelside, coinciding with the International Dragon Boat Races in the Garrison Channel.

Library and History Center partner for reading program

Tampa, Fl -- The Tampa Hillsborough Public Library and the Tampa Bay History center are launching a new partnership to encourage reading in the community.

The program which is called Hillsborough Reads is for the community to dedicate one month reading about Florida's past.

A Land Remembered by Patrick D. Smith is the featured Hillsborough Reads selection for May 2011.

Wesley Chapel, FL -- The 12th annual "Broadway Comes to Tampa" show will be held again this year at Saddlebrook Resort and Spa in Wesley Chapel, May 7 at 6 p.m.

This is a golden opportunity to see some of broadway's biggest stars in a special one-night only concert event. 

Tickets will cost $175 per person or $1,750 for a table for 10.
