Tampa, Florida-- Looking for a way for your kids to have fun, learn, and gain self-confidence? If so, check out the kids' karate classes offered at the Osprey Club. 

All ages are welcome.  Classes are held three times weekly, with sparring only on Friday nights. A new class has been added for beginner belts. Call for more details.

At the Heart of Art

Tampa, Florida-- Artistic and warm-hearted? If so, attend "At the Heart of Art" event scheduled for May 17. 

The event will feature artwork from residents of Arden Courts Alzheimer's Assisted Living in Tampa, a Memory Care Community designed to help memory impaired individuals lead productive and independent lives. 

Their work will not only be on display, but it will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the USF Health Byrd Alzheimer's Institute.

Hillsborough Co., Florida– Now you can take a tour of history through craft!

Make sure you visit the “Make or Take Craft Day” on May 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Tour the historic buildings and sites while learning how to twist rope, dip candles, make toys, and cutout paper dolls. You will also be invited to plant a seed to start your own garden, as well as have the opportunity to enjoy the year-round favorites like butter churning and laundry.

Lifelike Sculptures to be on Display in Historic Downtown Plant City

Plant City, Florida – Beginning May 1, Plant City Photo Archives & History Center (PCPA) will have eight sculptures on loan from The Sculpture Foundation in Santa Monica, CA.  From the "Man on the Street" collection of acclaimed artist J. Seward Johnson.

The life-size sculptures depict scenes from everyday life in America, and will be on display through July, around downtown Plant City. This will coincide with the opening of the PCPA’s Smithsonian exhibition, “Journey Stories.”

Ybor City, Florida-- On Friday May 4, the Singing Stone Gallery & Studio in Ybor City invites you to meet artist Terry Andrews as they kick off his exhibition at the studio from 6-9 p.m.

The exhibit, "From the imagination of Terry Andrews" begins May 4 and ends June 1. 

Guests will have the opportunity to discuss the artwork with Andrews, and partake in light hors-d'oeuvres and drinks.
