Plant City---Plant City's First Baptist Church presents Old Fashion Gospel Sing.

This is the 14th year for the area's largest gospel sing.

It's happening Friday, May 18 at 7 p.m., at 503 N. Palmer Street.

Tickets are available for a $10 donation from  Myrle Henry or the church office.

You'll get to hear some good gospel singing from The Gann Family, Spirit Song, Royal City and Never Fade.

It's a great time for the entire family.

Plant City, Florida -- It's a funny southern comedy that's sure to entertain the entire family.

Plant City Entertainment, Inc. Community Theater presents the comedy, "The Red Velvet Cake War".

It's the story of 3 cousins who could not have picked a worse time to hold a family reunion.

The show runs from May 11 - 19 at the Plant City Entertainment, Inc, theater located at 101 N. Thomas Street.

Tickets will be available at the door prior to each performance.

Riverview, Florida - There's a special class Monday, May 7 at 6 p.m. where you can learn how to draw using the right side of the brain, which thinks in patterns and pictures.

Organizers say during this 90-minute free program, participants will work on projects together while discovering the artist within at the Riverview Branch Library located at 10509 Riverview Drive in Riverview.

The class is for adults of all skill levels. Participants must register in advance however at the Information Desk or by calling 813-273-3652.

Tampa, Florida-- Cracker Country, a rural Florida Living History Museum at the Florida State Fairgrounds, seeks enthusiastic and outgoing people to join their staff as they work to reach future goals.

According to the Fairgrounds, Cracker Country's Museum Docent Program gives its members the opportunity to journey back to 1890s Florida to experience rural living first hand.

Through these eyes, docents invite visitors to join them in accurately recreating the life of early Floridians.

Official Unveiling of Plant City Sculptures

Plant City, Florida-- This Friday, May 4, an official unveiling of the eight sculptures from the 'Man on the Street" collection takes place at 11 a.m.

J. Sewrad Johnson sculpted these statues to depict scenes from everyday life in the U.S. They will be on display throughout Plant City until July.

This official unveiling parallels the opening of the Plant City Photo Archives & History Center's (PCPA) Smithsonian exhibition, "Journey Stories", a chronicling of U.S. history. 

The city welcomes the public, and this event will be free.

Free Florida Orchestra performance Thursday night

Tampa, Florida -- Tonight at 7:30 p.m., The Florida Orchestra will perform a free Pops in the Park Concert in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park

The orchestra will offer a program of familiar symphonic favorites including the "Overture" to Johann Strauss, Jr's Die Fledermaus and his Eljen a Magyar Polka, and a waltz from Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty. The concert also includes selections from My Fair Lady and The Phantom of the Opera, along with John Williams' Superman March and Tchaikovsky's explosive 1812 Overture.

Steven Byess will conduct.
