At the intersection of Kennedy and Memorial Highway, the city of Tampa, in cooperation with Westshore Alliance, have erected a new sculpture named, "Kinetic Ring."

Local artist Catherine Woods designed the 24 foot sculpture to reflect the flavor of Westshore: colorful, lively and active. Westshore's "on-the-move" vibe was captured in the sculpture through the dynamic 'pinwheel' framework which holds four c-shaped panels of laminated and tempered colored glass.

"The corner occupied by Kinetic Ring is a highly-traveled gateway for visitors traveling from the airport and area residents driving into Tampa. The Westshore Alliance and the Westshore Residential Neighborhood Improvement Committee both understand how important it is that we utilize these gateways and make them appealing for visitors and potential businesses," Tampa said Mayor Bob Buckhorn.
