Flash mob promotes India Festival at International Plaza

Tampa, Florida -- Shoppers at International Plaza got a flash mobbed Bollywood-style when dozens of dancers surprised crowds Saturday with a colorful routine that combined American and Indian music to help promote the upcoming 25th Anniversary of the India Festival of Tampa Bay this weekend.

India Fest, founded in 1988 at the USF Sun Dome, offers a wide variety of cultural entertainment including dance competitions, singers, comedians and appearances by Bollywood celebrities.

Participants can also indulge in vendor booths featuring traditional Indian food, jewelry and clothing. Part of the proceeds from this year's India Fest will benefit several Bay area charities including Wounded Veterans and Feeding America of Tampa Bay.
