12 units lost in apartment fire overnight in Tampa

Tampa, FL - Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews responded to a structure fire located at 12401 Orange Blossom Oak Place around 11:00p.m. Wednesday night.

Upon arrival, HCFR found heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of the second story. Fire crews had to put the fire out from outside of the building due to the lack structural integrity.

HCFR was able to stop the fire from spreading to the adjacent buildings. A total of 12 units were lost to the fire.

Murder investigation affidavit reveals conflicting stories

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Police have released a search warrant affidavit documenting what Granville Ritchie and Eboni Wiley told police during their interrogations in the murder of 9-year-old Felecia Williams.


FDOT closes exit, drivers making illegal U-turns

Tampa, Florida -- Drivers were confused, lost, and frustrated!

The Florida Department of Transportation closed the Dale Mabry exit on I-275 early Wednesday morning, which is forcing drivers to take an alternate exits.

One of alternate exits is the Himes Avenue exit on the left of the interstate. It's forcing drivers in the left lane on the highway, the exit lane, to exit when some believe they are only in the fast lane. That means when they do exit onto the on ramp, they are making dangerous and illegal U-turns.

Card skimmers could be back in Hillsborough County

Hillsborough County, Florida -- It's an ongoing problem at some Bay area gas stations that leaves you footing the bill, sometimes for hundreds of dollars.

Another victim has come forward claiming her debit card information was stolen by a card skimmer at a gas station.

The number one thing you need to look for when you're at a gas station is if there are any doors on the pump ajar. Your credit information may be in danger if the card machine on the pump isn't completely closed.

Gas grill explodes at teen's birthday party

Tampa, Florida -- A mother and her 13-year-old daughter are recovering from a gas grill explosion.

Their apartment's gas grill burst into flames after they lit it and then went to open it and grill some meat. It happened at 4747 Waters Ave. in Tampa at the Oaks of Woodland Park Apartments.

It was 17-year-old Alaezea Longmire's birthday party.

The cookout went up in flames before it even got started.

"She went to put the meat on it and it exploded in her face and they flew back," said Longmire.

Family friend says suspect was with Felecia Williams

Tampa, Florida - On Monday, 35-year-old Granville Ritchie, the suspect in the murder of 9-year-old Felecia Williams, was back in court. Ritchie has not been charged with the child's murder, but instead with having sex with a minor. The judge agreed to give Ritchie another 72 hours to find an attorney, or else one would be appointed.

Williams, a 3rd grade student at Tampa's Edison Elementary School, disappeared on Friday, May 16. Her body was found the next day near the Courtney Campbell Causeway.

Mother and teenage daughter injured in propane tank explosion

Carrollwood, Florida -- A mother and her teenage daughter were injured after a grill's propane tank exploded on Monday morning.

Hillsborough Fire Rescue says the explosion and gas leak happened at 4747 W. Waters Avenue in western Hillsborough County.

Family members tell 10 News they were celebrating another daughter's 17th birthday with a cookout. They fired up the grill at the apartment clubhouse earlier in the morning, but things went wrong as they went to put the meat on.
